Rural Water Initiative for Climate Action (RWICA)
is a woman- and youth-led nonprofit Community Service Organization (CSO) legally registered with the Republic of Uganda since 2020. RWICA is focused on community-driven solutions to WASH issues from the grassroots to the policy levels. RWICA’s unique One Health holistic approach aims to improve human, animal, and ecosystem health through community engagement and multisector collaborations that advance equitable access to safe water, resilience to climate change, and gender equity. As a small, nimble organization, RWICA can pivot to address its limited resources to provide community assistance where it is wanted and needed most. All activities are in collaboration with key stakeholders, including community decision makers and Ministry officials, to align project goals with local and national objectives for water system
